Module 2.4 Discussion

Module 2.4 Discussion

Q In this week’s icebreaker activity, you’ll be exploring the challenges of collaboration. Think about the times that you have worked on collaborative writing projects or other types of collaborative projects. What challenges did you face? What frustrated you? While it would be useful to review the module's Learning Materials and both Module Notes pages before completing this exercise, doing so is not a requirement. Instructions This activity will take the form of a brainstorm in which you must contribute a new challenge to the list that is being collected. The goal is to generate as many different ideas as possible. Step 1: Identify the Challenge Begin by reviewing the messages that have already been posted. Then, spend a few minutes thinking about the challenges you have faced with collaboration. Identify one unique issue that has not yet been addressed. Step 2: Craft Your Initial Response Write your initial response, which should be exactly one sentence of no more than 25 words, and it must be unique from all other responses on the list. Your initial response to this activity is due Wednesday by 11:59 pm ET. As noted above, your response should be a single sentence of no more than 25 words. No audiovisual responses should be used for your initial post this week. Step 3: Respond to Your Classmates Review the posts of at least two classmates and respond with a brief paragraph in which you offer a solution to the challenge that your classmate has posted. Unique solutions to the challenges are most effective. Remember our goal: to generate as much information as possible about this common problem. Your peer responses are due Friday by 11:59 pm ET. Your peer responses may be posted in written or audiovisual format, and they should not exceed three to four sentences (or 75 words). Evaluation You will be assessed using the TECH200 Icebreaker Rubric. The Icebreaker interactions combined are worth 10% of your final grade in this course. Outcomes This activity assesses the following module outcomes: • M2-01: Identify the challenges of communicating in a collaborative environment. (CO1, CO2, CO3, CO4, CO7)
